Wargaming
The Wargaming Division at Covan Group develops and runs digital Tactical Decision Games (TDGs) to help military teams and partner organizations sharpen their decision-making skills in realistic scenarios. Covan Group brings military expertise to Stilman Advanced Strategies for the ongoing development, quality assurance, and training support of their wargaming software, LG-RAID.

As a subcontractor to BAE, Covan Group served as the principal advisor for all aspects of software testing and demonstration that led to the selection of Seashore (formally PIONEER) as the wargaming software of choice for the Marine Corps’ Neller Center. This included planning, coordination, scenario writing, testing, execution, and development of training requirements. Covan Group saw BAE successfully through a series of test readiness events, demonstration tests and the culminating Operational Demonstration with a score above 99%.scription

In collaboration with the Office of Naval Research and leading artificial intelligence developers, Covan Group is developing a new approach to creating, distributing, executing, and evaluating Tactical Decision Games more effectively and efficiently. This effort will modernize the way that military leaders at all echelons train, develop, and evaluate their teams.

As a subcontractor to Lockheed Martin, Covan Group served as the lead advisor to the development of SMART-Viz, a software suite delivered to the United States Marine Corps one year ahead of the projected requirement. SMART-Viz was designed to address the need for automation-assisted AAR tools that synchronize data from various sources. SMART-Viz facilitates timely, accurate, and targeted insights on warfighter and unit performance, and enables focused collection of key cognitive skills that drive tactical thinking and decision-making. These tools are currently used during the Marine Corps Super Squad competition in Quantico and at the MAGTF Warfighting Exercises at Twenty-Nine Palms, California.
